25 euro per session
First time in Ireland we will guest workshops of Holding Therapy

“Holding therapy” by Jirina Prekop

Czech therapist Jirina Prekop developed her own therapy method based on the basic human instinct of a natural connection between baby and mother. The purpose of her therapy is restoration of this primal bond between mother – child, a first connection we have with other human beings which has a crucial effect on every single relationship we conduct with others later in life. For many reasons this bond can be broken. For example – birth by caesarean creation. Unconsciously we can carry with us this trauma into adulthood, which can manifest as deeply embedded fear, anxiety and depression. Restoration of that bond is a powerful healing method. Effects are permanent. Pekop’s method is popular in Germany and Poland and Czech Republic, for a first time is coming to Ireland.

Who is the workshop for ?

Everyone who wants to restore a deep connection with themselves by healing their inner child.
Someone who struggles with self-confidence and no self belief.
People who have trouble with commitment to themself, other people and in romantic relationships.
People who “give too much” and loose themself in other people.
Those who lost joy of life and don’t feel “driven” any more.
Someone who is balanced and happy and wants to explore their inner self using this method.

Event– Battle of the Axe Comedy and Open Mic Club

Location- Ha’penny Bridge Inn, 42 Wellington Quay

Description- The Battle of the Axe Comedy and Open Mic Club has been hosting events since 1996, making it over 22 years old – although it’s a bit like Peter Pan – it will never grow up.

It has been a launch pad for some of the country’s most iconic masters of mirth and it remains one of the most friendly places for new would-be comedians to cut their teeth and perfect their jokes.

Offer a little support to the newbies sweating behind the ears or lose your sense of public decorum altogether as you roar laughing at a well-known circuit comics trying their new jokes on for size.

Either way, the craic will be mighty – and isn’t that just what Dublin is about?

Approximately 1.3 billion tonnes of food is wasted globally each year. Ireland creates over 1 million tonnes of food waste annually, which costs the country €2-3 billion each year. On a household level, Irish families are throwing away 700 Euros of food each year, or about one in three to four bags of perfectly good food we purchase at the store end up in the rubbish bin.

As part of The Hopsack’s Minimal Waste Project we aim to educate our customers and our staff on how we can create less waste. Small changes create a big impact!

During this event Craig and Sundara will:

– inform us of the impact food waste has on our environment and on global warming

– teach us how to plan, shop, store, prepare, cook and reuse food more efficiently

This will not only help save our precious planet but also help you save money!

Event– Mindfulness, The Energy Body, and Hatha Yoga Practice

Location- The Little Bird Cafe, South Circular Road

Description- Join Sinead for a special workshop and discover the benefits of merging mindfulness with asana practice. Mindful yoga is one way to learn how to become more present, using the breath and body to bring us back to the here and now. From this place we can develop a sense of ease and balance that can permeate our whole lives.

The workshop will focus on heightening the awareness of the energy-body -our internal guidance system- through hatha yoga practice, pranayama, mindful living techniques, and deep relaxation. We will start with a flowing yoga sequence set to a slow and steady pace; the deeper muscular system is challenged when moving through postures in this way, and the mind is encouraged to be fully present in each moment. Sinead refers to the breath as “the music of yoga” so the emphasis will be on breath awareness and moving at the rhythm of the breath, a perfect way to prepare for deeper meditative practices.

You will be guided through a special pranayama sequence to stimulate the pineal gland; boost serotonin levels; and awaken and harness the power of the third eye chakra. The energy of this chakra is associated with heightened levels of awareness, clarity of mind, and internal peace.
doTerra Essential Oils will be used to enhance relaxation.

Cost- €35

Time- 15.00-17.30
