Sites I Shop That You May Never Have Heard of

As much as I love living in Ireland, our high street simply doesn’t cut it in terms of genuine variety. For this reason I often find myself looking online either for specific pieces or, just to give my wardrobe a healthy does of individuality.

From years of online shopping I’ve aquired a few staple brands that I return to time & time again…. THIS is the post where I share some of them with you.

Happy shopping!

lavish alice1

Lavish Alice;

Lavish Alice is great for staples with a twist. Wearable clothes with a little flare. If you’re in the market for a piece that’s a little daring but still appropriate for a formal event, this is a great place to look. Their pricing is reasonable and the quality of their pieces is great. Brilliant brand for the girl that wants to whisper a statement rather than scream it.

Tip: Buy this brand through ASOS if you want to save on postage costs.

monki

Monki:

Described to be ‘noted for its street-style-meets-Scandi-chic design’, Monki is a brilliant brand that nods to the minimal trend… with a little extra sass. Monki is my go-to for minimal pieces cut in amazingly unusual shapes but they’re well known for some bold prints as well if that’s your thaaang.

Their price point is similar to most high street stores and you’ll find their items wear very well. A brilliant brand to try of you want to add some unfamiliar eye catching shapes & textures to your wardrobe.

Tip: Some of Monki’s collection is also stocked on ASOS so buy through there if you can to save on postage posts.

yesstyle

Yesstyle:

I go with an 80/20 rule with my wardrobe; 80% solid investment buys, 20% ‘fluff’. Yesstyle would fall into the fluff catagory & its axactly where I’d shop when I’m in need of a statement piece on the cheap.

Going by the phrase ‘once seen never forgotten’, I don’t like to invest substantial amounts on pieces I know I’ll only wear once or twice before feeling jaded by it so, Yesstyle is the failsafe if I’m looking for a statement piece for a particular occasion.

Tip: Shipping is slow and the quality isnt great but, as another saying goes… you get what you pay for.

choies

Choies:

I debated weather or not to actually put Choies in this post as their shipping takes ahhhhhhhhges. Like, think of an outrageously unacceptable amount of time… then double it.

We’re talking 6 week+ here guys.

Aside from that they have a great selection of affordable pieces, great for bulking out your wardrobe with statement pieces or, sorting out your holiday wardrobe dilemmas.

I love Choies for bold statement pieces to add to my generally muted wardrobe. You wouldn’t get years of wear out of their materials but, chances are, you’ll tire of the item before it falls apart.

Tip: As with most Asian styles, you’ll need to size up when ordering with Choies but even more so with these guys… like, 4 sizes up.

sheir

Sheinside:

Sheinside is not wildly dissimilar to Choies but their quality & fit is better and. their shipping times are a lot less rage-inducing! I love Sheinside for those affordable statement pieces but I’ve gotten some great staples from this site too.

This site seems to be somewhat of a blogger fave with those in the know; with the quality of their stock being so good at such affordable prices, who can blame them?

Tip: Like a lot of Asian sites popular on the west, they seem to talk huge inspiration directly from the catwalks, often emulating designs within days of it first hitting the catwalk so, if you’re a dedicated follower of catwalk fashion, this site is a must for you.

weekday

Weekday:

Weekday is pretty much the dream for me when it comes to minimal styling. Great quality pieces, great shapes, great textures… great great great! Seriously though, if you appreciate good quality basics at affordable prices, this site is a must on your virtual day of shopping.

I’m equally as in love with Weekday’s men’s pieces, much to Sean’s appreciation.. pretty much everything they stock is fab as far as I’m concerned. A definite go to when I was to top up that 80% side of my wardrobe.

Tip: You can buy Weekday through ASOS thus, saving the postage costs that they have on their own site.

spellandgypsy

Spell & the Gypsy Collective:

I’ve died & gone to boho heaven a soon as I click enter on this site; festival vibes for days that leave you with a hankering to book a 1-way flight to LA or, somewhere equally as appropriate to wear kimonos all year round.

The styling on their site alone will leave you wanting to snap up the whole collection. Their pricing is a little higher than high stret but, not totally out of range and the items are great quality & wear as you’d expect from the photos.

A brilliant site if you’re looking for beautiful holiday pieces or, to invest in some items that’ll last you for many summers to come.

Tip: Their sales are great so keep an eye out if you like the clothes but not the price tag.

Great Post! saw you snap chatting about this earlier so said I’d take a look. I’m a lover of Spell myself, it’s the DREAM. I love a bit of Asos as much as the next person but the ‘fluff’ recommendations, please please please think about the real cost of your ‘fast fashion’. You should watch the doc ‘the true cost’ on Netflix, blew my mind and changed the way I think about fashion. I just think we should all shop a bit more responsibly and having watched your snaps I reckon you’d feel the same after you watch that flick. You DO get what you pay for! Rant over. Sorry 😉

Hey Eve, I 100% agree & would consider myself to be a very ethical shopper for the most part… I’ve actually seen that documentary & it caused a change in the way I shop in an everyday sense so I can see why you feel so strongly about this! I suppose my approach is to include sites where people can get fluff if thats their style. I personally no loner buy things that I cant see myself getting consistent wear out of as I’ve purposefully kept my wardrobe small since I returned from travelling so I wouldn’t buy much fluff any more for several reasons. Thanks so much for taking the time to read the post and comment… theres absolutely no need to apologize for speaking your mind!!xx
