Ibiza Do’s and Don’ts: Travel Diary

After spending the last 2 weeks in Ibiza (6 nights partying in Playa D’en Bossa, 5 nights chilling in an Airbnb up north) here’s what I learnt;

IBIZA DO'S AND DON'TS: TRAVEL DIARY

{DO} Accept the fact that you’re going to spend a small fortune… there is literally no way around it if you want to go clubbing. If you’re not happy to pay €50 into a club (& I wouldn’t blame you!) Ibiza ain’t the place for you.

{DO} Stay in the Ibiza sun apartments; really central to Playa D’en Bossa with stunning minimal rooms & really friendly staff.

{DO} Plan outfits that are somewhat practical (as well as fab, obv)- if they night goes well you’ll be out till morning so a small cross body bag & comfortable shoes are a must. Caring significantly less about how you look on your way home than you did when choosing that perfect pre-drinks insta pic a few hours back will inevitably lead to bare footed-ness, leading to shards of glass in those pretty pedicured feet. Not cute.

{DO} Consider heading up north for a few nights to wind down before flying home… chances are you wont catch much daylight in between clubbing sessions so, you may as well make the most of being away but catching up on some sun, culture & meals that aren’t 80% chips & bread before heading home.

{DO} Plan up-styles. I anticipated really hot clubs with lots of dancing & didn’t want the look like a sweaty mess 5 min into the night so I spent time Youtubing simple up-styles to keep any wet mop situations at bay.

{DO} Eat in the Passion cafes… I did a good bit of restaurant researching before I went over but knew that we’d end up just eating grab on the go type stuff for most of the time in Playa D’en Bossa- Passion cafe was one of the places I researched that was delicious, healthy & reasonably priced. An absolute must.

{DO} Go to Ushuaia! An amazing experience somewhere between a super club & festival vibe.

{DO} Visit the beautiful old town, even just for a change of scenery for dinner one evening… there’s a great vibe there & some really impressive restaurants that wont cost as much as you expect.

{DO} Consider wearing ear plugs when going out. We noticed a substantial amount of people sporting them & were left with a ring in our ears that’d make an eager girlfriend wail with excitement. Long term damage ain’t sometime to be scoffed at guys!

IBIZA DO'S AND DON'TS: TRAVEL DIARY 12

{DON’T} Feel like you have to go out every night, it is supposed to be a holiday after all. Hire a scooter, head off to a chilled area for the evening & grab dinner on the beach…. the bitta variation in your holiday snaps will keep the gran happy.

{DON’T} Buy drinks in the clubs! Unless you’re happy to spend €25 each time that is.

{DON’T} Forget the importance of where you’re staying; If you want serious clubbing Playa D’en Bossa is the best area to stay in… if you’re not the type that likes to start your nights at 4am then San Antonia might be the place for you. Trying to save money on accommodation at any cost may leave you a taxi journey away from everything which will only add up to more stress…. and even more cash!

{DON’T} Buy you’re club tickets at the door! They’re sold by everyone from shop keepers to street vendors at 10-20 Euro cheaper.

{DON’T} Get scalded in a desperate attempt to get that deep tan down on the first day. Not a good look. Consider a spray tan before jetting off if pale & interesting ain’t your bag.

IBIZA DO'S AND DON'TS: TRAVEL DIARY 2

{DON’T} Weigh down your bag with numerous day time chic outfits… chances are you’ll wear the same ‘over-sized tee & birks’ look any day that you actually rise early enough to make it to the beach. Keep the bling & excessive shoe options to the later hours.

{DON’T} Forget the following essentials: sunscreen, 2 pin adapters, hangover relief preferences and a speaker for your room…

Finally, and above all, {DON’T} forget to have a good time!
