Formal Look with Midi Skirt

Ya’ll know by now that I really don’t enjoy dressing for formal occasions so, when I was invited to attend Parfois’s A/W preview dinner recently I was in a bit of a fluster about what to wear…
Its not that the event would be particularly fussy in terms of dress sense but, they put an exceptional amount of work into the presentation of their beautiful dinners so I think its nice to put that extra effort into how I present myself!

After faffing around for quite some time this is what I came up with- I have such a thing for burnt orange so was delighted to find this coated midi skirt in the ASOS sale a while back; I paired that with open toes & an open shirt to finish the look in a way that wasn’t too ‘officy’.

Little personal touches are what make a look your own & ensure that you’re wearing the outfit rather than the outfit ‘wearing you’. For this reason I added a more chunky shoe to stop the finished look from being too girly which just isn’t my style.

It was a stunning night to attend, as I knew it would be from their previous event earlier in the year. It’s amazing to see brands go that extra mile to make events memorable… and very insta-worthy!

Hope you guys like the look xx

I'll be writing a post on my top tips for selling on Depop this week so, if you're looking to do a spring clean keep an out of for that xx (Depop username: icomeundone) This time four yeas ago I returned from an epic round-the-world trip travelling 14 countries with 3 friends over 2 years ✈️... although I'm not a 'quote person' this reminds me of the idea that "happiness is where you find it but rarely where you seek it" because, at 24 years old & 18 months out of college it as a conscious decision to invest in travelling the world over blowing the money in Dublin on new clothes & nights out . This decision was to be the greatest of my 20s, even more important I feel that getting my degree . The cultures we experienced, the crazy adventures we had, all left a lifelong impression on me meaning that in India, the second quote from the trip came about when I got a lady to freehand a tattoo on me symbolising "if you never jump, you'll never fly" It was truly a trip of a lifetime, I couldn't recount all of the adventures to you if we sat & had coffee for a week but, the memories it gave me, the confidence and, the idea that things will always work out are the greatest gifts I could've ever given myself, reminding me forever of the following: "don't spend your life searching for a place to call home, let the bones of your skeleton be the only structure you need" Trust yourself, rely on yourself & the rest my friends, will fall into place . Have a great wkend everyone, hope you enjoyed the quotes as much as I do ❤️❤️ (If you wanna hear a select few of some of my wild & woeful tales from my adventures travelling click the link in my bio to read that part of my 7-part travel series I did around this trip on the blog xx) Boho elements making a very welcome reappearance into my wardrobe as the summer comes closer ☀️ Looking for last minute plans for this evening?
