Getting up early and having a hot shower with feel good music on. A bit of Cardi B first thing always perks me up. I try to avoid checking my emails and social media accounts until I’m up and dressed, which isn’t always easy.
Slice in Stoneybatter. It’s only 5 minutes down the road from me and their breakfast menu is delicious. It’s a great spot for brunch on the weekend, I highly recommend their Spiced Carrot and Walnut Pancakes.
3FE. The baristas in 3FE are so passionate about good quality coffee so you’re guaranteed a good brew every time. a lot of places in town use 3FE coffee beans, like Kaph on Drury street, so I tend to follow where the beans are.
Balfes in the Westbury. It’s a little pricier for tea & coffee but Balfes has such a warm & calm atmosphere. I always need to sit near a plug socket and the staff their are always so cheery and helpful.
Honest to Goodness on Dame street. If you like big filling nutritious salads and warming hot pots then Honest to Goodness is the place for you. They have a massive lunch menu and there’s something for everyone. The breads they use are baked fresh each day which is a lovely touch. I recommend their super salad – you won’t be disappointed!
Zara! As much as I love to shop around and try new places I always end up getting some fab bits in Zara and H&M. I also regularly pop into the Designer Exchange off south William street to see what new handbags they have in. I bought a Mulberry there recently in mint condition and I saved so much money.
The Belfry in Stoneybatter. This pub is relatively new and it was one of my favorite spots over the summer. They have a pop up food van in their courtyard which changes every few weeks. One week you could be enjoying a vegan veggie burger and the next week they’re selling gourmet hotdogs. It’s always full of interesting characters and I think it will be the perfect cozy spot to enjoy a drink by the fire during winter.
I love 777 if I want to enjoy tasty sharing plates and quirky cocktails. If I’m in the mood for somewhere with a little more of a chilled atmosphere then Luna is perfect. It’s dimly lit and cozy so once I get there I find I never want to leave – especially when the food coma hits. Rustic Stone is another favorite of mine – we are spoiled for choice in Dublin!
I love Zozimus, 37 & Sam’s – they all share the same outdoor area so it’s really easy to pop in and out of each bar. I end up staying in whichever one is playing the best music. If I want to go somewhere that we can sit down and have the chats then Drury Buildings is my go to.
The George – There’s nothing like a drag show to get you up off your seat and it’s impossible not to feed off the energy of the performers.
Eddie Rockets. I have so many fond memories of sitting in the booths in Eddies having a laugh with my friends. The heels come off under the table and the cheese fries always go down a treat.
The people. I love how friendly and approachable people are in Dublin. Also you just can’t beat the Irish sense of humor. Our little city is full of charm and amazing bars and restaurants – it makes me so happy to see new spots opening up and I feel like Dublin has a new lease of life lately.
The Marker Hotel. There are some stunning hotels in the middle of town too but it can be very loud if you’re looking for an early night. The Marker has a top chef, a spa and a gorgeous rooftop bar so what more could one need.
