A Day In Dublin With Claire Balding

Claire Fullam (better known as Claire Balding) is one of Dublin’s much-loved social media stars (I can see her cringing as she reads about herself described in that manner!). She’s a north-sider (the better side imo) and someone who comes across as very proud to be a Dub so, I was absolutely delighted to get her on board for a virtual tour of her city. I hope you guys enjoy it.

I’m starting my perfect day by…

Getting up first in the house. 10 minutes to check on the world via my phone while the kettle boils…

I’m heading for a solo breakfast so I head to…

Kennedy’s Food Store in Fairview. They do the best homemade brown bread, the best hicks ham & the best poached eggs.

No morning is complete without an epic coffee. I grab mine from…

Basic,  but I’ve got a Costa Coffee in work! So Costa – but Id drink dishwater if it had caffeine in it!!.

I have to catch up on work so I work from…

I cant work anywhere else bar, my job or my kitchen table !!! Im so nosey, if I was to go to a cafe, Id just be ear-wigging!

All that work has worked up an appetite so for lunch I head to…

Mr Burito in Drumcondra – I could eat their Burito Bowls forever!

I meet a friend with their kids so to keep ‘em entertained I bring them to…

St Annes Park in Clontarf – its an all rounder! Great playground, from tots to tweens! Great coffee spot, good car parking. A dedicated doggy park, where my kids can watch the dogs they will never have 🙂 and amazing wooded grounds for adventurous walks!

Next up, a spot of shopping. This means I’m straight in to…

Im not a great shopper – I hate clothes shopping. I do love fancy food shops, like fallon and Byrne or Avoca or Donnybrook Fair. Id rather spend my money on a Cheese than a Chanel

I’m going for a celebratory dinner so it has to be…

Kinara Restaurant in Clontarf – my favourite!

This night calls for a drink so I bring them on a mini pub-crawl to three of my faves…

I love local pubs. I cant be handling, no seats and no conversation! My 3 locals – Kavanaghs on the Malahide Road for Tapas Thursday, Bru House in Fairview for Wings and beer or Gaffneys in Fairview for the best pint of Guinness in Dublin.

Those drinks have got us in the mood for dancing so it has to be…

Anywhere with an FM Radio!!

All that dancing have worked up an appetite so, we grab some late-night eats in…

Anywhere with an FM Radio!!

My favourite thing about the city is…

Its people. Its stories. Its honesty. .

If I was a tourist in this city I’d definitely stay in…

I’ve seen every 5 star hotels penthouse in Dublin, as I used to work in 5 star hotels! God it sounds like I was a lady of the night 🙂 But in any city, an Air BNB is the way I prefer to go! If I HAD to pick (The Merrion!!)
