When it comes to beauty we’ve all tried many (…many!) products but there are few we stick to year after year as we ultimately feel there may be something better out there for us fickle lot. Finding a product that we trust to be so good, its worth choosing again over the endless selection we have at our fingertips is worth sharing… which is why I decided to write this post.

These 20 products are those which I reach for on the shelves again & again… going straight for them without looking around at whats new or possibly better as I believe

they work, feel they’re worth the money & know they do their job damn well.Here they are;

  1. Tigi Bed Head Headrush: I did a good bit of research before purchasing this particular shine spray & it seems I’m not the only gal who thinks this one is the top dog- Since I haven’t been blessed with a hair sheen that resembles polished glass, I’ve resorted to finding it in an electric pink spray can that smells like watermelon & makes me look (…slightly closer to) a hair goddess.
  2. The Body Shop Vitiman C Microdermabrasion: Ok, I know few things divide beauty gurus more than whether we should/shouldn’t exfoliate with beads but, I get stubborn bumps around my jaw area that only seem to be banished by this little gem. I use it once weekly on that area & it does the job very well.
  3. L’oreal Elnett: Do I really need to say anything? Hair holy grail for hold, smell & handbag size-ness!
  4. Bourjois Smokey Effect pencil is smoked brown: I’m very phasey with how much effort I put into my make up (as you Insta followers would know!) but, when I’m in the mood to glam the eyes up I love nothing more than a smokey brown look. This pencil is the best for adding long-lasting colour to the waterline or blending along the bottom lash. It gets my top vote for pigment, price & staying power.
  5. Lord & Berry 20100 matte lip crayon in Kiss: After years of being a dedicated Ruby Woo gal I tried this & was converted. While I still have a place in my heart for the Mac classics, the tone of this red crayon feels like it suits me better than none other. I get complimented all day long when I wear this (who doesn’t love that, eh!?) AND while its matte, it’s not as drying as other matte lipsticks & stays put almost perfectly for the day…. what more could you want?
  6. Clarins Hand & Nail Treatment Cream: The most absorbent yet effective hand cream I’ve ever tried. I’ve been put off a lot of hand creams over the years by how sticky they feel, often washing them off after what feels like hooooours of waiting for them to dry in so I love this cream disappears into the skin almost instantly… the perfect day-to-day hand cream.
  7. Maybelline Lash Sensational waterproof mascara: Heres the thing; despite years of complaining about my non-curling lashes (I sound like a barrel of laughs, don’t I?!) no one ever thought to mention that waterproof mascara holds a curl like, a MILLION times better than standard formulas. I started buying this a year ago & my uber-curled lashes & I haven’t looked back.
  8. Nair Sensitive Hair Removal Cream: Great for tidying up in between waxes, less torturous than epilating & not as messy as home-waxing. This can often be found in the €2 shop too so stock up if you see it there!
  9. Batiste Dry Shampoo in beautiful brunette: I’d be absolutely lost without this little can of goodness… I use it almost everyday & have gone through more of them than I, or the ozone layer would like to know. Way easier to blend in darker hair than the standard formula & just as effective.
  10. 20 beauty products

  11. Make Up Forever High Definition Concealer: I buy this in the lightest shade & use it as an under-eye concealer… amazing texture, brilliant coverage & I love how hygienic the rubber applicator is.
  12. Seventeen Instant Glow bronzing powder: I’ve been committed to this bronzer for YEARS now after trying (what felt like) every other one on the market. This product is on par with high-end brands for a fraction of the price… the best drug store bronzer in my opinion.
  13. Wee Balms: I have a legit addiction to lip balm… like, I fully panic on the rare occasion that I leave the house without some & will likely have slipped into a chemist to relieve the urge rather than spend the day without one on hand at all times. For that reason I would consider myself somewhat of an expert when it comes to the stuff & these Wee Balms have been topping my list for a while now. My Mom picked a stack of them up for me in a Galway health store & I now have them littered all around my apartment in case of a balm SOS of sorts. They’re Irish, all natural & very soothing… well worth trying.
  14. Dermalogica Clear Start All Over Toner: Remember those pesky skin bumps I mentioned earlier in this post? This toner has afforded my skin a significant reduction in the staying power & appearance of those buggers. The salicylic acid is likely the key ingredient but I love that its contained in a product I enjoy by a brand I trust.
  15. Primark individual lashes: I know I’m not the only one who’s been loving these over the last year as, they’ve barely been in stock since they launched! When I’m lucky enough to find them in Pennys I panic-grab & stock up about 10 packs at a time. I don’t wear them every day or even every week but, I love how they open up the eye when I’m going all out with the awl face paint… I’m sure they’re similar to other individuals but, you can’t beat that price at €1.50!
  16. Make Up Forever HD Powder: I’ve developed a serious love for MUFE over the last year feeling that the quality of their products is superior to most other high-end brands… I LOVE to use this as a setting powder, especially for under the eye as it doesn’t warm the brightening effect of your under-eye concealer. I also attempted that ‘baking’ trend for a while which resulted in a serious depletion of this powder but, I can confirm from experience that its excellent for that too if it’s what yer into.
  17. Mac Velvet Teddy: Shock! I’m far from the only lover of this lipstick and yes, I did buy it around the unwavering KJ hype but I’ve learnt to love it without expecting it to give me serious pillow lips & the colour is without doubt  a brilliant every-day shade.
  18. Dove Original deodorant: My Mom had a (weird?) things against spray deodorants when we came of age when wearing deodorant became necessary & now I’ve developed a strong belief that skin contact is needed for maximum effect when it comes to this part of your daily routine. In my eyes spray is great for freshening up but roll on wins for overall protection… & this original scent reigns supreme.
  19. Seventeen Define & Contour palette: Better than high-end contouring palettes that I’ve tried, simple to use & buildable. I’m on my second palette since I started using this & plan to remain loyal unless someone gives me a damn god reason to be otherwise.
  20. Rimmel Stay Matte powder: I feel like this product is nearly a beauty right of passage for Irish girls as every friend had one loitering in their make up bag growing up. I’ve maintained that loyalty towards this product as my every-day setting powder, feeling that it works as well as high-end brands but, for a fraction of the price.
  21. Rimmel Brow This Way in dark brown: This product isn’t photographed here as I’ve run out & need to be repurchased but simply HAD to be mentioned as I’ve been using it for over a year now & absolutely love it! A brilliant budget friendly brow kit that holds it’s own against other more expensive alternatives.
